MASS Design Group believes that buildings have the power to improve health and better our lives. We've recognized that a fundamentally different model of architectural practice is needed to truly build better, one that integrates the social determinants of sickness or poverty in order to improve long-term health outcomes and to drive social change.

Through this studio, MASS Design Group and students from the Roger Williams University School of Architecture will partner with the Rhode Island Primary Care Trust (RIPCT) to provide design and services for a new typology that will redefine American healthcare at the scale of the neighborhood. The RIPCT's vision for providing healthcare to the state's one million residents includes funding, operating and building 100 new decentralized neighborhood health "stations". These stations will provide primary care, specialty medical services and auxiliary wellness facilities. This studio will provide the RICPT and its stakeholders with a vision for the future of RIPCT's Neighborhood Health Stations.
