IT Coordinator
MASS is seeking a full-time IT Coordinator to join our team in Boston. As an IT Coordinator, you’ll ensure seamless technology operations for our Boston studio while collaborating with our Global IT team in Rwanda. In this role, you’ll provide direct, on-site IT support to Boston users and remote assistance to U.S. colleagues in our Santa Fe and Hudson Valley studios. By bridging local needs with global IT strategies, you’ll empower teams to focus on designing impactful solutions while maintaining secure, efficient systems across borders. We will also expect you to spend about 20% of your time supporting general operations matters for the Boston Office. This is a hybrid role expected to spend 80% of your time working in person from an office. Occasional travel (<10%) may be required to other US office locations. This position reports to the Global Director of IT.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on IT support to Boston employees and remote assistance to Santa Fe/Hudson Valley studios via Slack, phone, and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Management).
- Troubleshoot hardware/software issues (Windows, Mac, Linux), including laptops, desktops, tablets, and peripherals.
- Configure workstations, security settings, and cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
- Manage IT inventory lifecycle: procurement, tagging, decommissioning, and license tracking.
- Oversee workstation imaging, VPN/network troubleshooting, and software deployment.
- Partner with the Rwanda-based Global IT team to align policies, security protocols, and system updates.
- Support new hire onboarding: Active Directory account setup, device provisioning, and training.
- Address facility-specific tech needs (A/V systems, lab/residential setups).
- Maintain clear IT guides, knowledge bases, and weekly reports on system performance/issues.
- Assist with office expansions and occasional travel to U.S. studios for installations.
- Participate in IT security audits and disaster recovery planning
- Support for general administrative tasks in the Boston Office related to daily operations
Desired Skills and Experience
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 2-3 years of IT support experience with hardware, software, and basic network administration.
- Certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, or Fortinet NSE are a plus.
- Proficiency in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, VPNs, cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on mentorship and user education.
- Flexibility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in design/architecture firms or mission-driven organizations is preferred.
- Multilingual abilities (Spanish, French, or African languages) are a plus.
- Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Pay Range: $60-$70k salary commensurate with experience
