Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program
Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) leads the nation in the provision of health care to the homeless. At its main facility, anticipated expansion of clinical programs requires that some administrative functions relocate, such as the finance department, for which MASS recently completed an office fit-out in a nearby building. MASS’s commitment to BHCHP resulted in a high-quality design. Low workstations with translucent partitions are placed at exterior walls to maximize daylight and views for all staff.
Team-based and alternative work styles are supported by varied work environments. A graphic at the entry reminds staff and visitors of BHCHP’s mission and values. MASS brought partners to the process whose generous in-kind-donations made an affordable, high-quality interior possible. By assisting BHCHP’s administrative staff with a new and supportive environment, their ability to provide supportive services and dignified health care for the homeless was improved. This completed project was the first of several projects between MASS and BHCHP.
