Francis Fotsing

Environmental Engineer

Francis is passionate about increasing access to healthy buildings and empowering communities with sustainable energy services. As an Environmental Engineer at MASS, he supports the engineering and architectural teams in integrating passive design and low-carbon design on a wide range of projects in healthcare, education, conservation, and research. 

Since joining MASS in 2021, Francis has successfully contributed to projects such as the Grafanil Hospital (Luanda, Angola), the VW eHub (Bugesera, Rwanda), the Lagos Infectious Disease Research Institute (Lagos, Nigeria), and the Iftiin Peace Hub (Abud Wak, Somalia). His research informed a guide for reducing and measuring embodied carbon in Rwanda. His current work supports the design team in creating healthy and naturally cooled spaces at the GPTech Liberia Conservation Center. 

Francis holds a Master of Science in Energy Engineering from the Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences in Algeria. He boasts an array of certifications, including LEED GA, EDGE Expert, CAPM, and DGNB international consultant.

Outside of work, Francis is a Fintech enthusiast who volunteers with institutions supporting sustainable, borderless payments across the African continent.
