Landscape Designer/Landscape Architect

Boston, MA

MASS is seeking a full-time Landscape Designer/ Architect to join our team in Boston, MA. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week spent working in the office.

MASS Design Group is a mission-driven design collective that aspires to great impact through interdisciplinary design. We collaborate with communities to create landscapes that promote human dignity and planetary health.  We work towards a regenerative design culture that advances economic, social, and environmental justice from the scale of a site to the scale of a system. We believe that all communities should have agency in the design process and are seeking a passionate and experienced colleague to join our team and help lead the way. On the boards today, we have multiblock urban parks dedicated to truth telling & restorative justice, campus projects commemorating desegregation and those who lived it,  regional scale conservation & climate projects in the United states and Africa, amongst other smaller projects addressing gun violence, health care, coastal resilience, all seeking contextualized and community lead place making.

We are looking for a curious self-motivated learner, with a passion for the potential of landscape architecture. This person will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to represent and refine design ideas, and to help develop construction documents which clearly and professionally translate design intentions into buildable language.  Initiative and adaptability are essential qualities for success in this role.  We are constantly seeking to improve the way we work as well as the quality of work we produce, and this position offers great potential for candidates who want to grow with our organization.
