Taylor Klinkel, RA, LEED AP BD+C
Architect
Santa Fe, NM, USA
Taylor loves working with her hands. She is passionate about reducing the carbon footprint and showcasing the maker's handprint in the built environment. As an Architect, she advocates for local fabrication and has experience designing and building straw bale homes. She believes that housing is a human right and that everyone deserves healthy, dignified spaces that protect and restore the users and native ecosystems.
While working at MASS’s Kigali office, Taylor supported the design of the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture and the operations of the MASS.Made team by producing and installing locally sourced and fabricated furniture and fixtures.
Since moving back to the US, Taylor has supported the design and construction administration for projects in the Mountain West and Great Plains region of Indian Country, including Haven’s Domestic Violence Shelter in Montana, the Barelas Community Kitchen in New Mexico, and Caddo Nation’s Child Care Center in Oklahoma.
Before joining MASS in 2018, Taylor was a Global Health Corps Fellow for Archive Global. At Archive, she worked in rural Namibia and Swaziland, training local trade school graduates on housing improvements that promote health. Taylor received both her Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design from Montana State University.
