Julia Bürgi joined the MASS Kigali office as an Associate in July 2018. As an integral part of MASS's Kigali business development team, Julia leverages her academic training in architecture and urbanism, professional experience in public health, and passion for social justice to develop strategy and material for identifying pursuits of the most relevant new projects for the organization.
Before joining MASS, Julia worked at the Zero TB Initiative at Advance Access and Delivery and The Global Fund to Fight HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Julia received her Bachelor’s in Architectural History and Theory from Barnard College and her Master’s in Urbanism Studies with the Royal Technical University of Sweden (KTH). Her master's thesis examined public space as a proxy for inclusion and exclusion of minority and vulnerable groups from society at large.
Julia is passionate about helping MASS partner with organizations doing impactful work and ensuring that this impact is captured through research processes.
