Good design requires an intimate knowledge of the unique people and places that are served by it.
Nicki joined the MASS Kigali office in 2015 after being awarded the Canadian Prix de Rome in Architecture for Emerging Practitioners. In her time with MASS, she has worked on several projects through visioning, immersion, masterplanning, schematic design, design development, and construction drawings. She has coordinated project immersions throughout East and West Africa, conducting assessments, research and stakeholder workshops on new projects. She has worked on masterplans for educational institutions in Uganda, Kenya, Congo and Nigeria. Most recently, Nicki led the design of a university library and community resource centre in rural Uganda and is currently overseeing an adaptive reuse project for collaborative workspace in Nairobi, Kenya. Prior to joining MASS, Nicki completed her Master’s design thesis at McGill University School of Architecture in her hometown of Montreal, Canada.
