Kelly Doran, OAA, RAIC
Kelly joined MASS in 2014 to lead our Kigali Office. As an architect, urban designer, and educator Kelly brings his extensive experience working across Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa to our team in Rwanda. As MASS’s East Africa Programs Director, he oversees the design and implementation of MASS’s projects across the region. In the past year he has managed the Rwanda Ministry of Health’s Typical Hospital Plans, the award-winning Munini District Hospital, the new Head Quarters for One Acre Fund, and a masterplan for the African Rural University.
Prior to joining MASS, Kelly worked with regionalArchitects in London/Toronto, WilliamsonWilliamson in Toronto, and Eisenman Architects in New York. A graduate of the University of Toronto, he is a past recipient of the Canada Council’s Prix de Rome for Emerging Practitioners, an award given annually to one Canadian graduate of architecture, the Irving Grossman Prize for innovation in housing design, and both the AIA and RAIC medals. Kelly has previously held an adjunct professorship at the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture (Canada) and a Visiting Lectureship at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.
